This week, at an event held at the same time as the NFT NYC conference, the blue chip NFT project Doodles made a number of important announcements. The most important was that Pharrell Williams had been hired as the project’s new Chief Brand Officer. Williams spoke to a crowd of excited Doodle owners on the big screen at the Palladium Theater and said, “I’m a big fan of the brand. We’re going to build from the core community outward and bring Doodles to new heights, new levels.” As one of his first tasks as a member of the Doodles team, Williams will work with Columbia Records to release a new album called “Doodles: Volume 1.”
CEO Julian Holguin also said that the project would soon release a “Doodles 2” collection that is easier to use and not based on Ethereum. The project has also received funding from Seven Seven Six, a venture capital company started by Alexis Ohanian, who also co-founded Reddit. Since the last updates came out, trade volume for Doodles and Dooplicator has gone up a lot, making them the most popular collections on OpenSea and moving them to the first and third spots on the list.
