Donald Trump now has an NFT collection

The former president of the United States is selling digital trading cards depicting him as a superhero, astronaut, and more for $99.

Donald Trump revealed a collection of NFT trading cards today that allegedly come with real-world rewards, such as an invitation to a gala dinner with Trump or a meet-and-greet with the former president of the United States. And both NFT fans and Trump supporters are shocked by the news.

On Thursday, Trump shared the Collect Trump Cards campaign via his official Truth Social account. The post states that the digital trading cards, which are issued on Polygon, an Ethereum sidechain network, would sell for $99 each and allow purchasers to enter a competition to earn a variety of benefits.

“Collect all of your favorite Trump Digital Trading Cards, very much like a baseball card, but hopefully much more exciting,” he wrote today. “Would make a great Christmas gift. Don’t Wait. They will be gone, I believe, very quickly!”

This is the first time that Trump himself has released NFT collectibles, while unofficial initiatives have existed in the past. Earlier this year, social network Parler, for example, released NFTs inspired by Donald Trump. Trump’s collection contains 45,000 total NFTs on Polygon, with a maximum of 100 NFTs per customer.
