President Donald Trump attends National Day of Prayer 2018 event in the Rose Garden of the White House.
Members of the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas, where 26 people were killed in a mass shooting in November, were in attendance along with pastor Frank Pomeroy (whose daughter was among the dead) who lead part of the service.
VP Mike Pence, and Karen Pence were also in attendance as President Trump declared “We Affirm Our Dependence On God.”
On this National Day of Prayer, we join together to offer gratitude for our many blessings and to acknowledge our need for divine wisdom, guidance, and protection. Prayer, by which we affirm our dependence on God, has long been fundamental to our pursuit of freedom, peace, unity, and prosperity. Prayer sustains us and brings us comfort, hope, peace, and strength. Therefore, we must cherish our spiritual foundation and uphold our legacy of faith.
