Hi Huneybees, I must admit I was initially a bit skeptical about catching Cirque Eloize iD as the idea of an contemporary urban circus production wasn't very special, especially after watching many acrobatic performances by both local and foreign buskers over the years.Boy, I was so wrong and was glad that I did catch the show as I was totally blown away by the thrilling, jaw-dropping acrobatic and heart-pounding musical performance at the Marine Bay Sands MasterCard Theatres!
No wonder it is back in Singapore by popular demand, Cirque Eloize iD, which has performed over 900 shows worldwide, transports the audience into the vibrant streets at the heart of a big city.
The stage comes alive with the boundless energy of acrobats, break dancers, contortionists and a fearless stunt biker who perform against a kaleidoscope of eye-popping video projections drawn from science-fiction films, comic books and graffiti.
Do not be confused between Cirque Du Soleil with Cirque Eloize. Although both are Quebec-based Cirque (Circus in French), they are two independent companies and the former is producing theatrical circus shows.
Weaving together urban dance with 10 different circus arts, Cirque Eloize iD showcases the unique talents of an international troupe of artists displaying skills such as juggling, contortion, in-line skating, stilts, Cyr wheel, hand balancing, straps, bike trial, Chinese pole and aerial silks, building up to a spectacular finale on the dynamic trampowall.
Remember to catch Cirque Eloize iD at Marine Bay Sands MasterCard Theatres, which now is running from 26 February till 6th March 2016. Second Chance don't come too often.
