According to my experience, it is a nurturing environment for young entrepreneurs like us!
I was planning this trip for two months and finally the day came when I along with my friends and colleagues boarded the plane to Macau. It was a special moment for me as it was my first trip abroad. I felt a sense of pride as I had, in my own little terms, achieved something substantial!
As soon as we landed, I knew from the view outside that the total experience was going to be exhilarating.
The sheer amount of sponsors made me realise the actual scale of the event
The event started with a grand opening at the Hyatt. It was sponsored by leading firms like .club, igloo, 4.cn and many more. The day involved a lot of training sessions and workshops where we learnt a lot about the Domaining industry and its potential in the current .com boom.
We met successful businessmen like Jothan Frakes who is the co-producer of NamesCon, another giant annual Domaining event, Greg Tripleg and Michael Flippone. These guys told me a lot about the industry, I learnt a lot of them and will be sharing their interviews and related articles soon!
The evenings and nights meant fun. I increasingly saw that how successful businesspeople maintain an almost perfect work life balance. That was it! I indulged on my own and took part in the revels with full enthusiasm.
We did it all, from taking boat rides, riding in hummer limos to losing some cash in the casino. It was fun! The brilliant food which complemented these gatherings was just an icing on a very large and sumptuous cake.
DomainFest Asia was a brilliant experience. The one thing I learnt from it is that your business aim should be to take to that point where business is fun! In a nutshell, I can say that we had a lot of fun and a lot of learning. Altogether, I left Macau with high spirits, having learnt many new tricks of the trade and connected to a dynamic group of people.
Over to You
In the time to come, I will be launching and posting many intricate details about what I learnt and how I am going to use it in the form of posts, interviews and videos.
Also if you If you want to look further out, DOMAINfest Asia has already announced a return of Domainfest for 2016. That show is to be held September 19-22, 2016 in Hong Kong with the venue still to be named.
