Dolly Parton To Deliver Us From Evil With New Children’s Album
Much like Wu-Tang Clan, Dolly Parton is for the children. Dolly will be releasing a new album this fall, and it’s a children’s album! This is exactly the tonic we need in these trying times. People reports:
At a Nashville press conference on Tuesday, the country superstar announced she will release a new album this fall, this one for kids. Her first-ever children’s album, titled I Believe in You, will be available digitally Sept. 29, and the physical album will hit stores worldwide on Oct. 13.
My first album was released 50 years ago and it's been an amazing 50 years since then. I am very excited that now I'm coming out with my first children's album! I'm so proud to say that all of the proceeds from this CD will go to the Imagination Library!

Dolly is my spirit animal and I love her to an unreasonable degree, so you’ll have to just suck it up and let me fangirl all over her face, her heart, her talent, her unrepentant trashiness, her musicianship, her voice, her humanity and, of course, her jugs, for a minute. I once saw her finger the fuck out of a mandolin wearing two inch stiletto nails and it. was. amazing. She is perfection, she is love. Phew, is there any way Dolly could be any more rad? Oh, you betcha! Dolly’s new album will be in support of her long-running children’s’ charity. According to People.
All proceeds from the album will go to Parton’s own charity, the Imagination Library, which she founded in 1995. In keeping with the themes of the children’s album, the Imagination Library mails over one million books around the world monthly to registered children to help promote literacy and a love of reading.
People adds that, Dolly being Dolly, wrote and performs all 14 tracks on the album. The album also includes a new recording of the tear jerker classic, Coat of Many Colors with an additional track of her reading the book version of the song.
Dolly is a national fucking treasure. Her first album was released 50 years ago this week. 50 years! That’s 50 years of slaying. That’s warehouses of wigs, gallons of glitter, rivers of rhinestones, mountains of makeup, silos of sequins and a sea of silicone and all them other hos could never. Never, I tell you!
Here’s my favorite Dolly Parton “children’s song” about an orphanage called Evening Shade. Listen all the way through and get your life!
