Kadugannawa Police are investigating a case in which a 54-year-old female doctor, working at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital, hanging herself at her home in Urapola.
The deceased is Rohini Damayanthi Weerasinghe, a mother of two.
The police said that the body of the doctor was found in a room of the house Saturday (3) around 12 noon. At the time of the incident, the doctor’s son was sleeping in another room of the house.
The police said that the husband of the doctor had gone out at that time to fetch his daughter who was away from home.
The death investigation was conducted by Peradeniya Teaching Hospital Coroner Amal Jayawardena.
