Do You Know Where Most Cars and Bikes Are Sold in India? You Will Be Surprised to Hear the Name

India has become the third largest automobile market in the world. This has been made possible by the significant increase in vehicle sales. But do you know which state in India currently buys the most cars? Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers or SIAM (SIAM) has presented the statistics and said that during the last three months of 2023 i.e. from October to December, Maharashtra sold the most passenger cars in the country. It is seen that a total of 1,21,030 passenger cars were sold in that state during that period. The number of vehicles sold in Uttar Pradesh at the second place is 1,01,568.

Maharashtra tops in car sales

The names of Gujarat and Karnataka are next. According to SIAM sources, 85,599 and 71,549 units of passenger cars were sold in the two states respectively. But Uttar Pradesh has occupied the top position in selling all kinds of cars. According to the report, in the fourth quarter of 2023 i.e. in the last three months, a total of 8,22,472 vehicles were sold in the state including two wheelers, three wheelers and passenger and commercial vehicles.

Yogi state is followed by Maharashtra, Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Total vehicle sales in these states are 6,88,192 units, 4,21,026 units and 4,19,189 units respectively. Again, Uttar Pradesh has come to the top in the sale of two-wheelers. During that period, the company sold a total of 6,73,962 bikes and scooters. After that Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. A total of 5,15,612 units, 3,35,478 units and 3,24,918 units were sold there. However, it is not possible to know the number of West Bengal in the list.

SIAM also reported that Uttar Pradesh had the highest three-wheeler sales during October to December, 2023 at 23,859 units. It is followed by Maharashtra (20,495 units), Gujarat (19,743 units) and Bihar (14,955 units). Maharashtra is first in the commercial segment (31,055 units). Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Karnataka occupying the next position sold 23,083 units, 20,391 units and 16,966 units respectively.
