Do We Care About the Oscars?

The idea behind this is to look back at every single film that was nominated for,

·   Best Picture

·   Best Actor

·   Best Actress

·   Best Supporting Actor

·   Best Supporting Actress

·   Best Director

By looking back at these I will be asking the questions below to find out whether this is a film to be watched or not. This is not a full review and if I have seen the film in question I will give my rating of said film. I will also not be comparing or suggesting any other films that could or should have won this is just looking at a film and seeing if it still stands in the memory.

Film: Into the Woods

into

Oscar Wins: Zero

Oscar Nominations: 3, Best Actress in Supporting Role, Bet Costume Design and Best Production Design.

Have I Seen It?

Yes – My Rating 60%

Will I Watch It Again? Not unless I haven’t but mostly because it isn’t the type of film I enjoy.

Should Everyone Have Seen It? No, mostly because this is a film that the musical fans out there will enjoy only.

Most Memorable Part? Chris Pine was the highlight of the film as Prince Charming with the line ‘I was raised to be charming, not sincere’.

Thoughts On the Film: For me this is one of the films which slapped together big name stars with Meryl Streep, Johnny Depp, Emily Blunt and Chris Pine and make them sing to all the fairy tales you would have heard when you were young.

Do We Care It Got Oscar Attention? No and it didn’t deserve the Oscar attention.

Overall this is the Oscar Godess (Streep), the strongest female action star (Blunt), that chat show host people seem to think is funny (James Corden), The pitch perfect girl (Anna Kendrick), Captain Kirk (Pine) and soon to be Wonder Woman’s bitch (Pine) with the guy that just seems to have lost the plot when it comes to picking his movies (Depp) all singing with a few being quite average too.
