DIY Manicure in 6 Steps

How to get a salon-like pedicure at home?
1. Keep all the supplies that are required to do a manicure at a place to avoid running around all the house hunting for them in the middle of the manicure with wet hands. Remove any old nail polish with nail polish remover and cotton.
2. Clip, file and buff your nails. Remove the dirt underneath the nail corners. Always file your nails towards center of the nails and not by back and forth motion, as it leads to tear and breakage of nails.
3. Soak your hands in a bowl filled with warm water with a drop of disinfectant or shampoo for a couple of minutes. Dry your hands completely with a hand towel.4. Apply cuticle oil or vaseline to your nails. Use the cuticle pusher and gently push the cuticle back in circular motion. Follow it by cleaning your nails with a soft nail brush with a dollop of shampoo or body wash.
5. Exfoliate your hands with scrub, wash your hands and follow it by applying hand cream or body lotion and a massage.6. Wipe the nails with cotton to remove excess lotion. Now it is time to apply nail polish, start with a  base coat to protect your nails and prevent it from chipping. Follow it by two coats of your favorite nail polish.
