Wooden Crate / Dunelm Mill
This wooden crate is the latest addition to the living space, doubling up as storage for magazines and a work space. Whilst I favour the older, vintage style crates with stamped markings, I found a similar, cheaper alternative that was contemporary and clean cut. As it was cream wash with red lettering, I picked up a midnight black tester pot from a DIY store and gave it two coats of paint as this color worked best against my white walls and wood floor. As both a practical and minimalist option to store a stack of magazines, I also use it as an elevated inspiration platform to keep my favorite double page spread open on top, changing it up weekly. I also love how this crate can be flipped upside down to be used as a small coffee table or a place to work - you could even add a marble tile to a create a unique, clean surface in keeping with your existing space. I think this will be a good investment particularly if you live in a small space as it's good to have pieces that have a dual use.
