DIY Closet Organization: Scarves

I could buy about 1,000 scarves.  Each time I bring one home, my husband says “Don’t you have a scarf that already looks like that?” No, silly.  Each one is different and serves its own purpose.  Scarves can be for dressy events, used as a shawl.  For winter function, to keep me warm.  Professional, for work.  Casual, for hanging out.  Bulky, thin, textured, infinity.  The scarf situation is endless.  So, I will just have to start sneaking my purchases into the house, without him knowing.  A scarf changes an entire outfit, and its a cheap way to do it, considering.

Then there becomes the problem of the scarf pile.  How do you store scarves when your collection becomes a little more serious?

Take an old shower curtain, and use the rings.  Using a hanger that has a pant hanging portion that separates from the rest of the hanger.  Slide on as many shower curtain rings as necessary and then reattach the rod to the rest of the hanger.  Slide scarves through the different rings.  This way, you get to see each scarf and they are neatly hung.  You won’t forget what you already have and you can also easily grab one when you need it.  The photo above used binders that you can easily purchase at an office supply store.
