One of the significant role of DAIC, being a premier autonomous research body, is to research and provide policy feed to empower marginalized communities in India and to bring socio-economic transformation in the society. That's why presence of Director, DAIC, Vikas Trivedi becomes more significant to grace the flag off ceremony.
Divyanjan Siachen Glacier expedition 2021 is being executed by "Team CLAW" that is formed by Indian Armed Forces Veterans with a sole aim of empowering people with disabilities. That means CLAW team is taking care of the operational part of the expedition. On top of it, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is supporting the world record expedition of people with disabilities to Siachen Glacier. So, both operations and administration of the expedition are in strong hands for the best possible support.
On this occasion of flagging off Divyanjan Siachen Glacier expedition 2021, Dr Virender Kumar said-
"Whether it's about exploring the depths of the ocean or conquering the heights of mountains, ‘Operation Blue Freedom' would empower Divyanjans to accomplish their adventurous dreams."He further added-
"I am encouraged by our physically disabled armed personnel' great willpower as they prepare to break a new world record. I also believe that including young students in such journeys will help to empower them. I think there should be more of these types of events in the future."
ĂˆThe overall agenda of the expedition is like this. The Expedition Team start from New Delhi to Leh via Manali driving by road. Subsequently, the team will undergo three stages of acclimatisation, extensive training, and a final medical screening before getting inducted into the Siachen Base Camp for the final expedition.
On September 1, 2021, the final leg of the expedition from Siachen Base Camp will begin to head towards Kumar Post.
