2/101: The Crystal Palace Dinosaurs
Nothing less than the world's first theme park, the Crystal Palace Park dinosaurs still delight me every time. I particularly love glimpsing them from the train as it speeds past, a discombobulating sensation. Did I just see a dinosaur? No, surely not…
The dinosaurs were damaged during WWII and a London Walker once told me that her big brother used to, "do his courting" inside the Iguanadon". The little cough and wink she gave as she uttered the word "courting" was a South London delight in itself.
