Dine at The Blue Bicycle Restaurant in York

By Djridings @fivethingsnow

For lunch we booked a table at the Blue Bicycle restaurant.
This restaurant is in a quiet area of York but only about a five minutes walk from the main centre.

Here are five things about the blue bicycle restaurant.

Very friendly staff. We were made to feel so welcome from beginning to end.

The wine menu is extensive with about five good quality house wines served by the glass.

The A La Carte menu was impressive and novel. The beef I had had was probably amongst the best cooked and tastiest I have ever had. The puddings were incredibly well presented – just look at the picture of the Eton mess cheese cake.

The blue bicycle also has a downstairs area with more dining and a more comfortable seating area overlooking the river.

Although we didn’t see it there is also five star accommodation on site if you wanted to relax and sleep off your meal.

For a special meal this is the place to go in York. Lunchtime was quiet today which was perfect. I imagine that the evenings get busy so make sure you book.

Tip: Although the restaurant is close to Yorks city centre it would be well worth having a map with you to make sure you know exactly where you are going. We uses our google maps app on our iphone which was perfect.
