Didn't Get a Glastonbury Ticket, Don't Panic...

On the 9th October 2016, at 9am tickets for one of the best festival in the world went on sale. I'm of course talking about Glastonbury festival. Tickets sold out in 50 minutes, which is a longer time than in previous years, tickets sold out in 25 minutes in 2015! Crazy! If you were one of the unlucky ones who didn't get a ticket, fear not, there are some options for you.

Overview of Glastonbury Festival 

Wait for the resale
Resale tickets normally go on sale a week after ticket holders have paid their remaining ticket balance off. Twitter is the best place to find out when the resales will be happening, just follow @GlastoFest for all the latest info. I would strongly suggest adding glastonbury.seetickets.com to your bookmark. The exact date is yet to be confirmed.
Recycler/Litter pickers
If you know anyone who's ever worked as a Recycler/Litter pick at Glastonbury, you can apply to work at Glastonbury 2017, contact Fiona in January 2017 at fiona@glastonburyfestival.co.uk preferably with a recommendation from someone who has done it before.
Cash and Traffic employ car parking staff from the Sunday before the festival until Monday after the festival, please note staff are required to work a minimum of four 12 hour shifts.
In addition, DC Sites  employ staff to assist with running the campervan and caravan fields. They also supply checks at vehicle gates and staff the onsite vehicle chaperone service.

Working for your ticket
There are quite a few opportunities to work for different organisations and charities at the festival. Normally people are required to work three 8 hour shift for their ticket, but it does vary slightly depending on the organisation or charity. In some cases, you would be required to pay for the ticket in advance and would be reimbursed after completing the required hours.

• Oxfam provides stewarding at key locations such as entry gates. Oxfam recruits from a wide selection of regular Oxfam supporters, previous stewards and the general public. For further information about stewarding with Oxfam please go to Oxfam
• Festaff provides volunteer wristbanding staff for Glastonbury, you work 3 x 8-hour shifts for your ticket and the rest of the time is yours to enjoy the festival, click here for more information.
• If you have medical, paramedic or first aid qualifications, you can apply to join Dr Chris Howes' team of volunteers by completing the application on the website. 
• If you already volunteer for a charity, you may be able to work at the festival through them. Check out if they are coming to Glastonbury. If you are a Samaritan, you could investigate joining their festival branch. 

Market traders
Market traders do require staff, but in the main, they recruit people they know. If you know traders who come to the festival, get in touch with them as early as they have limited numbers of passes for each stall.

Glastonbury's 40th Anniversary 

Move houseYou could move to an area within the local ticket catchment if you aren't lucky enough to live there already. But you need to be quick, last year local tickets went on sale in November and numbers are very limited.
After fake ticket scams in the past, Glastonbury has cracked down on ticket touts. You have to register for tickets with a photo, your photo on the ticket has to match you. You cannot use your mates ticket to get in, trust me it DOES NOT WORK!
You can only purchase tickets from SeeTickets, do not buy from any other website.
