Rap mogul Sean Diddy Combs has publicly acknowledged his past misdeeds. After the emergence of CCTV footage depicting his abusive behavior towards his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016, he has finally chosen to take accountability.
The circulating clip captures him physically assaulting and intimidating Ventura in a hotel corridor. In response, Diddy released an apology video on Instagram, denouncing his actions as indefensible.
In a caption accompanying the post, the 54-year-old rapper expressed genuine remorse, stating, “I’m truly sorry.”
Within the video, he articulated,
“Reflecting on one’s darkest moments is a challenging task, but it’s a necessary one. I was deeply troubled. I hit rock bottom, and I won’t make excuses for my behavior.
What I did in that video is inexcusable. I fully own up to my actions. I am utterly disgusted.”

Diddy disclosed his efforts towards personal growth, remarking,
“I was repulsed then, and I am repulsed now. I sought professional assistance, engaged in therapy, and underwent rehabilitation. I sought the mercy and grace of God. I am deeply sorry.”
Prior to the video’s release, the rapper vehemently denied Ventura’s accusations, labeling them as “offensive and outrageous.” Additionally, he maintained his innocence when faced with Ventura’s lawsuit in November 2023.
Following the video’s circulation, online communities criticized Diddy for his brutal treatment of Ventura, now 36 years old. Conversely, his supporters commended his admission of guilt.
The footage portrays Combs dragging and assaulting Ventura as she attempts to leave the hotel room unnoticed. Catching her in the hallway, Diddy, clad only in a towel, proceeds to physically assault her. She lies motionless on the ground as he repeatedly kicks her.
