Chulha Chauki da Dhaba is known for its pocket friendly Punjabi dishes. Went here on a busy Sunday evening and the place had waiting, luckily we found a place as we were only 2. The place reminds of a roadside dhaba and the decor is simple. The seating is divided into two parts one with plastic chairs and the other with jute chairs. There are just too many people on the floor.
We ordered a Kadhai Paneer and a Navratan Korma with ghee Phulka’s. The order was made quick. The Kadhai Paneer was tangy and didnt taste that great. The Navratan Korma was made in heavy cream but really didnt have any taste of its own, with just few boiled vegetables. The Ghee Phulka were dripping in Ghee though. The service is too fast and they get your bill even before asking for it. The food turned out to be ok in taste and they have a long way to go to reach a typical Punjabi Dhaba status. Also I found that the food carry very little value for money and the items are quite costly compared to the quality.
The Scorecard:-
Food/Taste – 5/10
Service – 4/10
Value for Money – 4/10
Ambiance – 6/10
Quantity/Quality – 4/10
Overall Rating – 2.3/5
Please make good food not cheap food to maximize profits.
