Our Bookish Childhoods

  1. The love of reading was awakened in my by my father reading me things like The Hobbit when it was time for bed.
  2. Because I am dyslexic, something no one ever bothered to test me for but its very obvious now in adulthood, learning to read and write was very painful and very embarrassing. But one of the first books I got into once I got past the reading part of this hurdle (I still cant spell) was The Woman In the Wall by Patrice Kindl.
  3. One of, if not the first, serious series I read was Deltora Quest by Emily Rodda.
  4. Some of my favorite childhood books where the Fear Street books by R.L. Stine.
