DeVon Franklin has written a new book that was inspired his late father’s infidelity.
Franklin released the cover for ‘The Truth About Men: What Men and Women Need to Know,’ on Friday.
Franklin shared with Essence that he found out years after his father passed that he cheated on his mother.
“He passed away when I was 9 years old,” Franklin shared. “Years after he passed away, I found out he was unfaithful with my mother. It really began to make me think: ‘My goodness, well if my Dad was this way, what does this mean for me?’”
Franklin shared on his site, that he believe men can be faithful.
“I believe communication leads to transformation and it’s time to come clean. As men, we can be faithful. We can be the men we were created to be. But we have to look in the mirror and do our work.”
“And women, there’s a lot you need to know about how this struggle is affecting you. This isn’t a book about what women need to do to get a man. We have too many of those! If anything this book will motivate the men in your life to step up so they can be worthy of keeping you,” the movie producer concluded.
The Truth About Men is available for preorder now and releases everywhere on February 5, 2019.
