Our designer in focus section pays special feature to one of the noted designer from Nextime Jette Scheib. Jette Scheib studied industrial design at the University of the Arts (UdK), Berlin, and has worked since 2005 as an independent product designer specializing in home accessories. Her work can be plain and pure or narrative and playful, but often with a little twist that adds a new context or dimension to a functional object. Inspiration is everywhere: whether it is art, music, people and their stories, habits, clichés or simply life itself that feeds her creativity. She lives and works in Berlin.
She says “I am inspired by nature and organic shapes but also by people and everyday life. I am observing my surroundings, I study objects, people, people interacting with objects and each other. I collect aesthetic and technical information and then it falls into place. I am driven by curiosity, intuition and the desire to create something that has value, personality, makes you feel good and adds a new dimension or context to a functional object. She works and lives in Netherlands.
Some of her designs and models are featured below:
The NeXtime “Plank” wall clock designed by Jette Scheib is made from sustainably-harvested wood. This clock design is elegant due to the white metal case, the gray wooden dial and classic white hands. Each clock face is unique reflecting the grain of the wood it was made from.
The NeXtime “Cross” wall clock is designed by Chantal Drenthe and Jette Scheib. The strong and fascinating contrast between cold rough concrete and the shiny rose gold element makes this clock a real eye-catcher in a trendy and modern home.
The NeXtime “Sun Big” is a large wall clock designed by Jette Scheib. The clock has a white case with a pine wooden dial in a mandala pattern with a beige fabric behind it. This silent wall clock brings an oriental warmth and charm into your interior.
