Design Inspirations: a Touch of Blue and White

By Simone Design Blog @HomeSpire

Happy Monday! What a great weekend we had! It was sunny and relatively warm, making it a great time to spend outdoors. Christopher and I enjoyed this beautiful weather by spending some time adding some new flowering plants to our front stoop and back deck. Now they’re full of color!

Today I’m in the mood to talk about one of my favorite color combinations: blue and white. There’s something about this combination that really draws me in. Its classic for both home and fashion design. This combination reminds me of the colors of the Caribbean and the Mediterranean seas.

It makes me dream of waking up in a bedroom such as this one…

Blue and white can have a very modern, fresh, stylish look. I’m seeing this color combination everywhere. For example, Anthropologie’s exclusive Jardin des Plantes collection, designed by South African artist Ruan Hoffmann. It’s absolutely stunning! He totally glammed it up by using a touch of gold.

I’m drawn to this picture for its simplicity and earthiness. It begs you to sit and enjoy a sunny afternoon on a front porch or deck.
