Derwent Artbars - Something New to Play With.

By Ianbertram @IanBertram

After reading this post about them on Vivien Blackburn's blog, I invested in a tin of 36. I like pastel, both the soft type and oil pastel, although my use of the latter so far is limited to a cheap set of Pentel pastels. The Derwent artbars are wax based but water soluble so look to be very versatile. They arrived while I was in hospital so I haven't had the chance to use them. I think they will be useful in embellishing monotypes, but I think it might also be possible to use them in their own right to make prints onto dampened paper. I've done a couple of prints paper to paper so I'm going to give it a go.
