Verdict on Derailed
Derailed is a short romantic drama following Isabelle (Handler) on her third date with Jason (Azeez). However, the date doesn’t go perfectly as Isabelle gets an opener about her date’s view on disabled people. She lives every day with her disability and refuses to take anyone who doesn’t support them seriously.
This poses a big question about how cities cope with people who have disabilities and the failed access for them. It also reflects on how people can only see their problems and think others should just find their own solutions. This creates awareness for an everyday problem and shows people should be learning to make life easier for others. We could easily return to Isabelle’s search for love and hear many other tales of the bad experiences she went through too.
Final Thoughts – Derailed is a great short for raising awareness.
