Dennis Haysbert has joined the cast of the Christian film, Breakthrough (previously titled The Impossible).
Breakthrough, being produced by DeVon Franklin, is based on the true story of Joyce Smith’s account of her son’s miraculous recovery after he fell through a frozen lake in Missouri, which she details in her novel, The Impossible: The Miraculous Story of a Mother’s Faith and Her Child’s Resurrection.
Haysbert has been cast as the lead doctor at Cardinal Glennon Hospital who wants to save John but only looks at the situation from a medical point of view and doesn’t understand the power of miracles.
He joins Chrissy Metz, Topher Grace, Josh Lucas, Mike Colter, Marcel Ruiz, Isaac Kragten, Ali Skovbye, and Taylor Mosby in the film.
