Denis O’Hare’s Russell Edgington will be returning this season thanks to whoever released him from the concrete at the end of season 4. But that’s pretty much all we know despite the best efforts of many media outlets to get him to spill the beans on the King’s return. The blog Vulture recently spoke to O’Hare at the Second Stage Theatre’s All-Star Bowling classic this past Monday and when asked about his vampire counterpart, he remained tight-lipped. He did however talk a little about his return time in season 5:
“I don’t know what they have planned for me, but I’ll probably be in most of the season, starting about midway.”
Given that we’ve seen casting calls for episode 5.05 and 5.06 and they’re due to start shooting shortly, Denis will probably begin production very soon! He maintains that he has no idea what they’ve got planned for him post-concrete prison, he wouldn’t tell anyway for fear of being buried again:
“If I told you that, they’d bury me again. All I can say is that he’s got friends in unlikely places.”
