Verdict on Demon City
Recap
The movie follows an assassin who wants to escape a life of crime. However, a crime boss refuses to let him leave and decides to take his family and life. Twelve years later, he returns to the city and wakes up with a new rage that consumes him, targeting everyone who took his like from him.
Best Parts
The action is brutal and comes from the world of a manga. Which means we know things are going to be more over-the-top, but they work perfectly for the film. It has plenty of twists and turns along the way and plays into myths and legends about a demon going on a rampage. This comes together nicely with good performances throughout the movie.
Worst Parts
It does feel a lot like The Crow, without the same darker style.
Final Thoughts – Demon City is a wildly wicked, bloody action film.
