A couple of days ago, I got a request from the National Democratic Training Committee asking me to take a poll. It wasn't a real poll, but a thinly-disguised attempt at fund-raising.I didn't mind that, but I did get upset (actually angry) by one of the questions in the "poll" (see above). They asked me if I supported President Obama ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
WTF!!!
When did he do that?
He did withdraw the troops from Iraq (because Bush couldn't get an agreement to protect those troops from Iraqi courts) -- but then turned around and sent some troops back into Iraq to fight ISIS. And he withdrew a lot of troops from Afghanistan, but left about 8,400 there to continue the fight. At the end of his term, we still had American soldiers fighting in both Iraq and Afghanistan. How can that be considered ending the wars in those countries?
Look. I don't mind you sending me fund-raising requests. I will either send money or not (my choice). But don't LIE TO ME to get that money! Telling me President Obama had ended the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan was a LIE, and you should know it.
You don't have to lie. You have a good platform and agenda. Broadcast those. But please, don't lie to me. That will just assure you get nothing.
