Just before CES 2020, Dell has upgraded its successful 2-in-1 laptop, the Dell XPS 13. It now features a larger keyboard and a bezel-less screen.

Dell XPS 13 features

The 2020 model runs on 10th generation Intel Ice Lake (Core i7, up to 3.9 GHz) processor. There are three variants on offer - 4K or Full HD Plus (1920×1200) touch, or Full HD Plus non-touch.

The 2-in-1 features an Infinity Edge display on all four sides. The aspect ratio is 16:10 and the screen-to-body ratio is 91.5 percent. This has resulted in a 13.4-inch display in a 11-inch form factor, effectively offering 6.8 percent more screen. The brightness is 500 nits, which is 25 percent more than the previous generation.

Up to 32 GB LPDDR4 dual-channel RAM and up to 2 TB SSD storage is available on the latest Dell XPS 13. The non-removable 52 Wh battery is expected to run for up to 19 hours in the Full HD Plus mode.

Connectivity options include a microphone/headphone combo jack, a microSD slot, and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi 6 provide wireless connectivity on the device.

Other notable features include a 720p webcam, an edge-to-edge keyboard, and stereo speakers (2.5 W each) with Waves MaxxAudio Pro. The convertible notebook measures 11.64×7.92×0.58 inch.

Pricing and availability

The Windows 10 based 2020 Dell XPS 13 starts at a price of $999.99 (₹72,000 approx.). The Developer Edition, which runs Linux operating system, costs $200 more. The laptop is available today onwards.
