I love Boursin Cheese. It's one of my weaknesses . . . the richness, the herbs . . . the way it tastes so good spread onto crackers and crispy things . . . on celery . . . on a baked potato . . . in a wrap or on a sandwich. It just tweaks all my bells. I recently made my own Boursin type cheese from scratch and I dare you to tell the difference from the real thing. This is so close that it's amazing . . . and dangerous, because as long as you keep a few things in your house, you will never be without Boursin cheese again. Luckily I had some tasty Finn Crisp crackers in the house, courtesy of Degustabox! Rich and creamy it made the perfect contrast! These are really fab cracker/crisp breads and are actually something which we buy frequently anyways. They're healthy and they're delicious.
Crisp and moreish, even on their own. We love them.
*Homemade Boursin Cheese*Makes 1 1/2 cupsPrintable Recipe
8 ounces of cream cheese, at room temperature (250g)4 ounces of butter, at room temperature (125g)1/4 tsp minced garlichefty pinch each of dried marjoram, thyme, oregano and basil1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
Blend all of the ingredients together until smooth. Pack into a container, cover, and chill for several hours prior to using. Excellent when served with crisp breads, crackers or as a spread for sandwiches and wraps.
