A senior Police officer said that some information has been revealed about the owner of that Defender.
Information has also been revealed that this Defender has been used for the election work of a Kandy politician.
The officer further said that the security camera footage shows this Defender vehicle traveling behind the vehicle loaded with the Sandagala Archaeological Monument in a manner that indicates it was providing security to the vehicle in front of it.
The site of this archeological monument is said to be the site of the palace of King Sri Wickrama Rajasingha, the last Sinhalese King who ruled Kandy for 32 years from 1707 to 1739 AD. The Sandagala Archaeological Monument is about four feet in length and three feet in height.
