Story: Deep Fear starts when Naomi (Ghenea) sets sail for her latest journey around the island. However, a storm is incoming forcing her off course for safety. On this new course, she discovers Maria (Gomez) and Jose (Coppet) shipwrecked.

Against better advice from her boyfriend Jackson (Westwick), she goes to rescue the pair.

However, Maria and Jose are drug traffickers and want their product back. They force her to dive into shark-infested waters to retrieve the product as they know it is their only escape from the life of crime.

Verdict on Deep Fear

Deep Fear is an action thriller following an experienced yachtswoman offering to help people in need. However, those people turn out to be drug traffickers and force her into helping retrieve their drugs. Now, they must navigate the shark-infested waters to survive the threats coming their way.

This isn’t one of the better shark movies out there. It doesn’t even feel like a shark movie at all. The problem is the movie gets caught up between different threats and never commits to one. We have the storm, the sharks and the drug traffickers. However, none are presented as massive threats to the people involved. The acting is also weak and by the end of the movie, you will wish you were watching something else.

Final ThoughtsDeep Fear is a slow uneventful shark movie.
