Hello everyone! We had a very rainy weekend which culminated with a surprise snowstorm yesterday. My spring flowers didn’t appreciate it at all! My ranunculus blossoms were covered in ice. I felt their pain.
However, there’s still hope that spring might actually arrive soon. The weather forecasters are promising a week of sun and warmth. I’ll do my part by completing my spring home decorating, which I began last week.
Ever heard of the word “tinge”? When used as a noun, its definition is “a tendency toward or trace of some color”. This reminds me of my favorite design saying: “less is more”. Tinge is wonderful for the spring/summer months. To achieve a tinge look, you incorporate hints of bright cheerful colors throughout your home, making it light and inviting. Here, let me show you some lovely decorating ideas using tinge.
In this bedroom, mint gives this room a very serene look.
Your eyes are immediately drawn to the amber-colored base on the desk lamp.
A soft, subtle shade of blue can be seen in this brown and cream bedroom.
There’s nothing more beautiful than flowers with a hint of color.
A “pretty-in-pink” cushion.
Emerald green artwork accentuates this room without contrasting too much against the color palette of the space.
The gold-colored cabinetry hardware brightens this airy kitchen with a touch of elegance.
In the picture below, the brown, beautifully-carved cabinet complements the neutral shades in this room. This is such an elegant room!
The gold brush set and jar gives this bathroom a touch of glam.
Nothing has more of a summer look than yellow! Here it definitely lives up to its name.
So peachy!Well, what do you think? Are you ready to put some tinge in your home?
I hope you’re having a great Monday so far,
Simone
