Deconstructing a Green Grid on New Acrylic Painting

By Abstractartbylt @artbylt

I began this acrylic painting on watercolor paper by creating a green grid with bright yellow in the center blocks.  In todays painting session, I worked to deconstruct, or paint against that grid, introducing more organic, free-flowing shapes with a brush.

I began with circular shapes in permanent green deep, lime green, and bright yellow, letting these organic, rounded shapes, play against the grid background.

Next, I drew lines in cadmium yellow light, lime green, and veridian green.  I made outlines of circles and boxes, as well as some simply for texture.

This painting is one of a series of experimental works I'm playing with during this holiday season.
