Story: Deadlock starts when Ron Whitlock’s (Willis) son is killed in a drug bust. This sends Ron into a public retaliation, that sees him take a power plant hostage. Former military man Mack Karr (Muldoon) escapes capture and looks to fight back.
As Ron maintains control of the situation, his true agenda comes to light but now he wants to leave a devastating legacy. Mack is facing a race against time to save the hostages and the lives of potential victims.
Verdict on Deadlock
Deadlock is an action thriller in a similar conversation as ‘Die Hard in a blank’. In this case, it is a power plant. The story has a criminal taking hostages as they look to take control of the power plant to exact their revenge on the people who killed his son.
This ends up being one of the run-of-the-mill action movies, that doesn’t feel intense despite what is going on. Nothing seems to get going enough, with the natural repetitive storytelling. The performances in the movie are fine, with the added inclusion of Bruce Willis getting more eyes on the movie.
Final Thoughts – Deadlock is a run-of-the-mill action movie.
