Dead Bars share ‘I’m a Regular’ and announce ‘Regulars’ album details

Seattle punks Dead Bars have announced details of their second album ‘Regulars’ (out 3 May) and shared a Bandcamp stream of lead single ‘I’m a Regular’. Produced by Jack Endino and released via Anti-Flag’s A-F label, the song captures what vocalist John Maiello describes as the ‘moments of highs and lows; loneliness and community, sadness and celebration’ that come with being in a band.

John offers self-depreciating thoughts as he asks what it means to be a ‘regular’ person over garage rock hooks and punky riffs that sit neatly beside The Get Up Kids and Pkew Pkew Pkew. You can’t help but feel his pain as he reveals ‘I’m a regular but nobody says ‘here he comes” and  follows this up with the sad statement ‘I guess I’m not special enough’. He then reveals how being set in your ways can have a negative effect when it comes to getting out there and making a difference: ‘I might do something different tomorrow but I probably won’t’.

‘Regulars’ is released on 3 May via A-F Records in the North America, Eager Beaver Records in Japan, No Reason Records in Italy, and All In Vinyl in the UK.
