Taken during my inaugural trip to Oshkosh in 2010, visiting the seaplane base was something I had looked forward to.  Unfortunately when we got there, there wasn’t a whole lot of flying going on.  Designed for flight in rugged and remote areas of the world, the Beaver first flew in 1947 and over 1,600 were produced until 1967 when the line shut down.  Due to its success, the Royal Canadian Mint commemorated the Beaver on a special edition Canadian quarter in 1999.
