DC Studios Has Cast David Corenswet as Superman and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane

DC Studios has cast Rachel Brosnahan and David Corenswet as Lois Lane and Clark Kent in Superman: Legacy which is supposed to be released in 2025. DC Studios co-head James Gunn wants to create a new vision for the company that somewhat follows in the footsteps of the first decade of Marvel Studios. Gunn himself will write and direct the film.

Although most details are under wraps, there is a lot of speculation about the chemistry between Kent and Lane in the new movie. Will they be rivals in the newsroom, will they run into each other, will they already know each other when the movie starts? No matter how many Superman movies you watch, the suspense of when Lois will find the reality of Clark never seems to fade.

After Henry Cavill’s gritty and dark Superman, the six feet four lean actor will definitely add a different color to man of steel, one that will be closer to Christopher Reeve. You would know Corenswet from The Politician and Pear.

Corenswet has eyed this role for a long time now. He told Entertainment Weekly in 2019 that his ambition is to play Superman. He added, “I would love to see somebody do an upbeat, throwback [take on Superman]. I love the Henry Cavill dark and gritty take, but I would love to see the next one be very bright and optimistic.

Rachel Brosnahan had a well-applauded run on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She has also appeared on House of Cards. Her take on Lois Lane is going to be very interesting. Fans will be eager to see what colors are added to Lane’s character in Superman: Legacy.

The film will also feature the cinematic debut of Authority, an ensemble of super heroes created in the 90s by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch. Lex Luther will be there too. Superman may have to fight on two fronts and a whole pack of enemies in this one. Overall a lot rides on this movie for DC after the not so awesome performance by The Flash.
