Saturday 11th Modern Pentathlon
The Pentathlon was introduced in the Stockholm Games of 1912 and was the brainchild of Baron Coubertin himself – founder of the Modern Olympic movement. The Swedes took gold, silver and bronze that year, but in 4th place was one G.S Patton – later General George “Ol’ Blood & Guts” Patton of WWII fame.
