The London 2012 Paralympics Games have captured the imagination of spectators like no previous Games. Many venues are sold out and Channel 4′s viewing figures are high.

There have been plenty of highlight-reel moments but the one perhaps generating the most viral heat online came in the table tennis tournament. Great Britain player David Wetherill may have lost his tie against German opponent Thomasz Kusiak but he produced undoubtedly the shot of the tourney.

“Paralympic table tennis is a sport and something you should pay attention to because of shots like this one,” insisted Mashable. “The determination, grit and effort showed by Great Britain’s David Wetherill to smack this un-returnable forehand against Thomasz Kusiak of Germany show why, for many of us, sports are much more than just games people play.”
