Among the outdoor exhibits of the Musée de l’air et de l’espace is this one-off Super Mirage 4000 prototype. Based on the successful Mirage 2000, the 4000 shared the same wing and overall configuration except for the obvious addition of a second engine and canard surfaces. First flown in 1979, the program folded a few years later when it failed to attract any customers. The final blow was when the French Air Force decided to concentrate on the Mirage 2000. This aircraft was added to the museum collection in 1995. Nikon D500 w/18-200mm, processed with Aperture.
