Dassault Mirage F1 EDA

@ Museo del Aire, Madrid, Spain

May 2014

Taken during my first trip to Spain and visit to the excellent Museo del Aire.  This facility has six exhibition galleries and over 150 aircraft on display.  The F1 (designated C.14 in Spain) served as Spain’s primary air defense interceptors until they were superseded by EF-18A Hornets. The Mirage F1 EDA was an export version of the Mirage F1E delivered to Qatar that were later transferred to Spain in the late 1990’s. First acquired in 1975, the Spanish Air Force retired its Mirage F1 fleet in 2013.
