Verdict on Darkness of Man
Recap
The movie follows an Interpol agent needing to dive back into his former life to protect the son of one of his former informants. A new threat risks their relationship, and he must do everything to keep him safe before he spirals into the same world she came from.
Best Parts
The core story is a protection one, which works for action and keeps everything feeling simple to follow. It has fun action sequences, where Jean-Claude Van Damme gets unleashed on the enemies. The story is filled with twists as Russell must figure out who he can trust.
Worst Parts
This movie doesn’t bring anything fresh to the table, as you would expect Jean-Claude Van Damme to do everything that happens. While we might have surprises with who the threats are, the main idea doesn’t do enough to feel new. Sometimes things end up getting over complicated trying to make sure more happens in the world created.
Final Thoughts –Darkness of Man is the typical Jean-Claude Van Damme movie.
