A regional blood donation campaign was organized on Saturday in Dar Bouazza (Nouaceur province), under the theme “Blood donation is everyone’s responsibility”, at the initiative of the National Centre for Blood Transfusion and Hematology (CNTSH).
Organized as part of the partnership between the Ministries of Interior and Health, this campaign aims to replenish blood supplies in the Casablanca-Settat region during this summer period and to encourage potential donors to visit the blood collection service at any time.
Held at the Tamaris 2 esplanade, in collaboration with the Regional Blood Transfusion Centres of Casablanca and Rabat, and the El Haj Mouh Association of Blood Donors, this action aims to meet the high demand for blood and achieve self-sufficiency, while emphasizing reaching a large donor population during this summer period, when surgical interventions and accidents are significantly increasing, said Dr Mohamed Benajiba, Director of CNTSH.
“July and August are well known as a critical period in terms of blood supply availability, which is why the National Centre has put in place a blood collection strategy to meet blood collection needs,” he said, stressing that this strategy consists first of a communication plan to encourage citizens to donate blood and then of organizing blood collection campaigns in areas with large urban areas.
This action, which aims to reach 600 voluntary donations, aims to promote the principles of solidarity and altruism and to promote a blood donation culture that can develop a sense of mutual support among people.
