When Elodie agrees to marrying a Prince she has no idea that the Royal Family she is joining is actually going to use her as a sacrifice to repay an ancient debt.
⭐️⭐️
The first issue with this film falls on Netflix and the preview they show you as a trailer spoils the twist within the film, which if that wasn’t shown then it might have been slightly better.
Lord Bayford agrees to let his daughter Elodie marry Prince Henry after an approach from Queen Isabelle of Aurea. Even though his wife Lady Bayford and the stepmother of Elodie raised concerns when they arrived, nothing was done about it and everyone pretty much brushed this off.
Elodie is not your typical Princess in the sense of wanting to just rely on Henry and she was a little bit reluctant to actually go through with the marriage, but when they bond over the shared love for travel it did seem as though everything would be good. Although the ancient ritual in the moutains would see her thrown down into the dragon’s lair.
Anyway the film probably should have pushed on and been good from that point? But unfortunately it’s below average in nearly all ways and the only actual decent part was actually the voice of the dragon. Yes, I am really saying that is the highest point of the whole film. I also feel this is a good time to admit that I don’t understand the hype around Millie Bobby Brown, other than coming from Stranger Things she hasn’t done anything to impress me.
