Kiralawa bridge connecting Madatugama-Galkiriyagama Mahaweli areas was completely damaged during the rainy days, hindering over 50 villages in that area.

This bridge was constructed about six decades ago by the then Mahaweli Development Board. Later, it was absorbed into the Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority.

However, about two years ago, this bridge was damaged and was set up as a temporary bridge by the authorities. But, it was completely damaged creating an impassable state and the relevant authority warned the public not to pass on that way.

Therefore, the public request the Government to construct a new bridge as soon as possible for the benefit of the affected families.
