Interested in a beach holiday? Perhaps a Rainforest trek? Even a snorkelling reef adventure?
How about all three?
That’s right, travel to the Cape Tribulation and you’ll find the reef, rainforest, and beach all sitting side by side! The region is a tranquil tropical paradise along Australia’s Queensland’s coast.
It is unspoilt from destruction, thick and overflowing with natural wonders and wildlife. However, due to its thick greenery, it has a minimal amount of facilities. Promising only so many tours and accommodation to choose from. Trekking through the area by yourself might seem like the easier, and of course, cheaper option, but getting from each attraction to the next isn’t as easy as a quick walk. Turning your adventure into more of a stressful and frustrating journey. For myself, I opted to take a tour, choosing Sightseeing Tours Australia’s 1 Day Cape Tribulation & Daintree Tour with Mossman Gorge. What does this offer you ask? See the greatest attractions of the region in one jam-packed day of fun.
What you can see on the Tour
The Daintree Rainforest

A wonderland bursting with thick humidity and lush greenery, the Daintree rainforest is like nowhere else on earth. It is an ancient place, one of the oldest rainforests in existence. Due to its old age, there is a range of prehistoric plants and animals still roaming around the bushland, unique to only this small region. Immerse yourself in this ancient natural world, and see all its secrets by trekking along the many walking paths scattered within. Along the way, you’ll discover the many natural wonders nestled within, including swimming spots, impressive lookout points, and natural formations. Be sure to bring your walking shoes on this journey, as the rough terrain makes the rainforest trip quite an strenuous journey.

Cape Tribulation; nestled between the lush World Heritage Daintree Rainforest and the vast World Heritage Great Barrier Reef. It is the only place in the entire world where two world heritage sites stand side by side. The region is bursting with beauty, with golden silk sands and pristine views. It is untouched by urban development, a simple natural spot with only a few buildings hidden within the rainforest. This promises guests a glorious vacation away from the hustle and bustle of the concrete city, letting you disconnect from the outside world and fully immerse in the jungle. Although swimming isn’t an option on the Cape Tribulation beachfront, it still is a perfect spot for a sunbake. The tour also offers a morning where guests can rise before the sun and watch the slow glow of colours spread across the waters and surrounds.

Have all your troubles melt away in the crystal-clear freshwaters of Mossman Gorge. The pristine watering hole is hidden in the depths of Daintree Rainforest, listed as the best swimming spot around. The gorge’s clear green water is dotted by large rock boulders and thick greenery boarding the water. Giving guests a hidden oasis where you can sunbake on the rocks and venture through the bushland. Many many views!
The Daintree Rainforest is a vast place, covering the entire coastal area with thick plant life. When traveling from site to site, the only way to travel is to head on the winding road laid out. Zigzagging along the road that divides the dense rainforest. However, at times in your journey, the trees pause for a moment, leaving behind an impressive lookout point of the entire region.Rex Lookout

After driving down Captain Cook Highway at 100kph stood up filming out the sun roof (sorry mum!) we were finally able to pull over at this breathtaking lookout in Wangetti and take it all in.A post shared by Gemma ☼ (@geminwanderlust) on Aug 30, 2017 at 5:36am PDT
To capture a photo with a perfect blend of sea, sand, and rainforest, Rex Lookout is the way to go! Set in between the city Cairns and Port Douglas, this lookout provides the pristine views of Trinity Bay. Although it’s set on the ground level, it still provides quite an exceptional view, with the green mountains visible from the cliffside viewpoint.

Gawp at the breathtaking views of the rainforest region. Nestled further up a mountain, the lookout guarantees impressive views of the lower green canopy and the nearby Daintree River. Make sure to bring your camera, as this sight is well worth your next Instagram shot!
Australian Tropical Wildlife

It comes to no surprise that one of the main draws to this destination is its magnificent wildlife. And it leaves no visitor unsatisfied, as although it is only 0.1% of the entire country, it contains a large portion of the country’s wildlife. It is listed as the most biologically diverse rainforest on the entire planet, with 35% of all of Australia’s frog population, 65% of their bat and butterflies, as well as 20% of their bird species. For the flora, there are plants here that were alive when the dinosaurs lived. As well as unusual plants that emitted chocolate flavours or were shaped distinctly like birds. No matter where you roam, you’ll find at least one unforgettable flora or fauna!
