The Ceylon Workers’ Congress (CWC) has decided not to support the No-Confidence Motion (NCM) to be brought by the main opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) against the Government.

The CWC hopes to abstain from voting on the resolution, Party Chairman MP Maradapandi Rameshwaran had said according to media reports.

Two Ceylon Workers’ Congress members are represented in Parliament.

The other member representing the Congress is Jeevan Thondaman.

Both are currently serving as independent Members of Parliament.

The SJB has said it expects to hand over a No-Confidence Motion against the Government to the Speaker when Parliament convenes after the New Year holidays.
