2010 Wings Over Wine Country, P-40 Warhawk,@Wings Over Wine Country Airshow, Santa Rosa, CA

August 2010

A P-40 with the iconic sharks mouth motif taxies in after a formation flyby with a fellow P-40 during the Wings Over Wine Country Airshow.  The proper name for this aircraft is foten confusing.  Warhawk was the name the United States Army Air Corps adopted for all models, while the British and Soviet air forces used the name Tomahawk for models equivalent to the P-40B and P-40C, and the name Kittyhawk for models equivalent to the P-40D and all later variants.  Nikon D300 w/80-200mm, processed with Aperture.
