All about Curon, the Netflix TV series
Two boys, hand in hand, all enter dressed in a lake shrouded in fog, with a bell tower that stands out on the water to testify to the presence of a submerged country. The atmosphere seems that of a northern European noir and instead it is the new original Italian production of Netflix, Curon, arriving on the platform from 10 June. The goosebumps vibrations of the poster speak clearly: this place on Lake Resia, which gives the title to the series and is located in South Tyrol, is shrouded in mystery and in turn holds the secrets of the young protagonists.
The 7-episode supernatural drama tells the story of Anna (Valeria Bilello) who returns to his hometown with his twins Mauro (Federico Russo, ex child of the Cesaroni house) e Daria (Margherita Morchio). When the woman disappears, it will be up to the children to face the past and discover the legends and secrets related to their family.
Directed by Fabio Mollo and Lyda Patitucci, it is produced by Indiana Production with the support of Idm Film Fund & Commission because the filming took place right in South Tyrol, close to the border with Austria.
The town Curon Venosta, which has about two thousand inhabitants, is called Graun in German because most of the population is German-speaking. It owes most of its charm scenographic to the Romanesque bell tower of the fourteenth century which rises from the waters since the fifties, when it was precisely blown up and then submerged in favor of a dam that would have connected two local basins.
The place is also linked to an accident that caused a bus full of people to drown in the lake some time later, so the reason why it was chosen as the frame of the supernatural events that the series aims to tell.
The details on the plot are still very few, precisely to increase the suspense and the suggestive halo that accompanies the events of the various episodes. The cast also includes Luca Lionello (Thomas), Anna Ferzetti (Klara), Giulio Brizzi (Giulio), Max Malatesta (Ober), Juju Di Domenico (Miki), Alessandro Tedeschi (Albert) and Luca Castellano (Lukas).
